MHEC’s research on workforce development focuses on identifying effective strategies to improve education-to-workforce pipelines; address critical workforce shortages; and equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in an evolving job market. Reports explore such topics as the impact of teacher certification programs, the relationship between college attainment and career outcomes, and competency-based learning to enhance workforce readiness. By providing evidence-based insights, research in this area aims to inform policies and practices that strengthen the connection between education and gainful employment, ultimately contributing to robust state economies in the Midwest.
