State Board of Higher Education Member Tim Mihalick Elected Treasurer of Midwestern Higher Education Compact

(November 26, 2024 – Minneapolis, MN) — Tim Mihalick, president of North Dakota’s State Board of Higher Education, was elected treasurer of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) at MHEC’s annual meeting, held in Overland Park, KS, November 18-20.

Mihalick was appointed to the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education in 2019. His term runs through 2027. He is the senior vice president at First Western Bank & Trust, responsible for business development and facilities. He was initially appointed a MHEC commissioner in 2021 and now is serving his second term.

MHEC strengthens postsecondary education in its 12 member states through cost-savings initiatives and collaborative solutions informed by research and the expertise of regional leaders.

"I am honored to be elected as treasurer for MHEC, an organization that has a tremendous impact on our postsecondary institutions,” said Mihalick. “I forward to serving with my fellow commissioners to strengthen higher education in our Midwest region.”
