The Lenovo US contract extends tiered discount guarantees off its commercial pricing for end user devices and peripherals, device lifecycle management, associated services, and financing options. The contract features Lenovo made-for-education devices. Its desktops, laptops, and tablets are built specifically to withstand the rigors of daily use in and out of the classroom, including a full range of workstations for STEM-specific coursework and  full, independent software vendor (ISV) support, and small-form factor PCs built for tight spaces. For visuals, Lenovo ThinkVision monitors deliver great clarity and eye protection. The contract also offers accessories that give students and teachers vibrant learning experiences whether they’re in school or at home, such as mice, headsets, webcams, and speakers. In addition, protective cases and made-for-education backpacks are available.

This agreement reflects MHEC’s commitment to help member states access scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions through collaborative procurement. This cooperative agreement was awarded through a competitive, transparent RFP process.

Contract Terms & Eligibility

Effective July 1, 2022–June 30, 2029
Eligible to higher education institutions (public and private not-for-profit), K-12 districts and schools, cities, counties, local subdivisions, and state government in MHEC, NEBHE, SREB, and WICHE member states.

Solicitation Due Diligence

MHEC published a public solicitation for End User Computing & Peripherals, Device Lifecycle Management, and Associated Services MHEC-RFP-10282021 on October 28, 2021. Nine proposals were received by the December 14, 2021, due date. The selection committee scored each of the proposals based on best value according to the evaluation criteria stated in the request for proposal and proposals were short-listed to six finalists. In addition to the written submission, all finalists were required to present their proposed solution with the selection committee in a virtual respondent’s conference, which took place on January 26, 27, and 28, 2021.

Upon meeting all of the requirements of the request for proposal the selection committee recommended an award to Lenovo (US).
