The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is comprised by 12 Midwestern states who work together to strengthen postsecondary education within the region.
MHEC frequently convenes leaders from member states to advance cost- and time-savings initiatives, develop collaborative approaches to challenges and opportunities in higher education, and drive regional economic vitality. Leaders from each state also serve as MHEC Commissioners and on MHEC’s committees.
The member states of the Compact are: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
